The fifth objet was a love potion: Amortentia

THE CLUES

​

Amortentia is a love potion. One of its key ingredients is PEARL dust (= poussière, poudre)!

 

Love potions are sold by the Weasley brothers in their shop: WEASLEYS' WIZARD WHEEZES (see video below).

 

As explained by Hermione during the potion class in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the SMELL of Amortentia changes depending on the person who smells it. It takes the smell of what the person loves the most. For example, Hermione smells freshly mown grass (= herbe tondue) , parchment and... spearmint toothpaste (= dentifrice à la menthe)! Why toothpaste? Because she is in love with Ron! At the beginning of the movie, when they all are the Weasleys' house, Ron tries to wipe off (= essuyer) toothpaste on Hermione's face (click here to the the video extract). Also, Hermione's parents are dentists! The smell may remind her of them. This is only in the movie though, because in the book, Hermione does not reveal what is the third smell, but J.K. Rowling later revealed that it was the smell of Ron's hair.

 

Finally, Romilda VANE tries to make Harry fall in love with her by giving him chocolates with love option inside, but it is Ron who eats them and becomes suddenly obsessed with her!

THE PLACE

To find the place, you were given an enigma:

​

Look for the son of Venus and Mars.

​

You had to find CUPID, son of Venus and Mars, and god of Love in Roman mythology. Where? In the school's archery room of course, because Cupid is often portrayed with a bow and arrow, ready to pierce hearts with the arrow of love!

Le cinquième objet à trouver était une potion d'amour: Amortentia!

Amortentia est une option d'amour. L'un des ingrédients clés est la poudre de PERLE!

​

Les potions d'amour sont vendues dans le magasin des frères Weasley: WEASLEYS' WIZARD WHEEZES (voir vidéo ci-dessous).

Comme l'explique Hermione durant le cours de potion dans Harry Potter et le Prince de Sang-Mêlé, l'odeur (SMELL)de l'Amortentia change selon la personne qui la sent. Elle prend l'odeur de ce que la personne aime le plus. Par exemple, Hermione sent l'herbe fraichement tondue, le parchemin et le dentifrice à la menthe! Pourquoi le dentifrice? Parce qu'elle est amoureuse de Ron! Au début du film, quand ils sont tous chez les Weasley, Ron essaie d'essuyer du dentifrice au coin de la bouche d'Hermione (cliquez ici pour voir l'extrait). De plus, les parents d'Hermione sont dentistes. L'odeur pourrait donc lui rappeler ses parents qu'elle aime. Cela ne figure que dans le film. Dans le livre, Hermione ne révèle pas la troisième odeur qu'elle sent, mais J.K. Rowling a révélé plus tard qu'il s'agissait de l'odeur des cheveux de Ron.

Enfin, Romilda VANE essaie de faire en sorte qu'Harry tombe amoureux d'elle en lui donnant des chocolats avec de la potion d'amour à l'intérieur, mais c'est Ron qui les mange et devient soudainement fou d'elle.

Pour trouver le lieu, vous avez reçu une énigme:

Chercher le fils de Vénus et Mars.

​

Vous deviez trouver CUPIDON, fils de Vénus et Mars, et dieu de l'Amour dans la mythologie romaine. Où? Dans la salle de tir à l'arc de l'école, bien sûr, car Cupidon est souvent représenté avec un arc et des flèches, prêt à toucher les coeurs avec la flèche de l'Amour
