The fourth objet was another deathly hallow: the elder wand.

THE CLUES

​

The Elder Wand is mentioned in the Tale of the Three Brothers, one of the tales told in The Tales of Beedle The Bard. This wand is said to be the most powerful wand that has ever existed. It was created in the 13th century by Death itself! It was given to one of the three brothers, Antioch Peverell, who wanted a wand that could defeat death itself! It is made out of WOOD and it contains the tale (= queue) hair of a THESTRAL. With this wand, you can CAST spells that you couldn't cast with a normal wand. The wand has had many possessors: Peverell of course, but also Grindelwald, DUMBLEDORE, Voldemort and Harry Potter.

THE PLACE (= le lieu)

To find the place, you were given an enigma to find the name of a character:

​

It’s true I look a bit insane,

A bit messy, yet trustworthy.

 

I don’t belong (and yet I’ve tried)

Except maybe on rainy days

For what’s forbidden I can hide,

And dream it’s still the good old days

And the answer was HAGRID. He looks insane, he is messy, but he is nice and trustworthy. Dumbledore trusted him to bring Harry to his aunt after his parents were killed. Hagrid doesn't really belong to the wizard world because he is not allowed to do magic anymore. When the Chamber of Secrets was opened for the first time in 1943, Hagrid and Tom Riddle (Voldemort) were students at Hogwarts. At that time, the Basilisk (a big snake seen in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) killed a student and Tom Riddle accused Hagrid and his giant spider Aragog to be responsible for the murder. As a consequence, Hagrid was expelled and forbidden to use magic. But he still has a wand hidden in his pink umbrella and sometimes uses it! This is why he can perform magic "on rainy days". And it reminds him of the good old days, when he could perform magic freely.

The wand was hidden in the umbrella stand next to the lodge.

Le quatrième objet à trouver était une autre Relique de la Mort: la baguette de sureau.

La baguette de sureau est mentionnée dans le Conte des Trois Frères, l'un des contes racontés dans Les Contes de Beedle le Barde. On dit que cette baguette est la plus puissante qui ait jamais existé. Elle a été créée au 13ème siècle par la Mort elle-même! Elle a été donnée à l'un des trois frères, Antioch Peverell, qui voulait une baguette pouvant défier la mort elle-même. Elle est faite de BOIS (WOOD) et elle contient un crin de SOMBRAL (THESTRAL). Avec cette baguette, vous pouvez JETER (CAST) des sorts que vous ne pourriez pas jeter avec une baguette ordinaire. Elle a eu de nombreux propriétaires: Peverell bien -sûr, mais aussi Grindelwald, DUMBLEDORE, Voldemort et Harry Potter.

Pour trouver le lieu, vous avez reçu une énigme vous donnant le nom d'un personnage.

Et la réponse était HAGRID. Il a l'air un peu fou, il est désordonné, mais il est gentil et digne de confiance. Dumbledore lui a confié Harry pour qu'il l'emmène chez sa tante après la mort de ses parents. Hagrid n'appartient pas pleinement au monde des sorciers car il n'a plus le droit de faire de magie. Quand la Chambre des Secrets a été ouverte pour la première fois en 1943, Hagrid et Tom Jedusor (Voldemort) étaient élèves à Poudlard. A cette époque, le Basilic (un gros serpent vu dans Harry Potter et la Chambre des Secrets) a tué une élève et Tom Jedusor a fait accuser Hagrid et son araignée géante Aragog, Par conséquent, Hagrid a été renvoyé et il n'a plus eu le droit de faire de magie. Cependant, il a toujours une baguette cachée dans sont parapluie rose et il l'utilise parfois! C'est pour cette raison qu'il peut pratiquer la magie "les jours de pluie". Et cela lui rappelle le bon vieux temps, lorsqu'il était autorisé à utiliser la magie librement.

La baguette était cachée dans le porte parapluies à côté de la loge.
