EXTRACT 1: In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth book (and movie) of the series, Snape and Dumbledore use veritaserum on the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who finally admits that he is not Professor Moody, but Barty Crouch Jr. who took poyjuice potion to look like Professor Moody!

THE CLUES
Veritaserum is a potion that must be BREWed in a CAULDRON, like all potions. It is a powerful truth (= vérité) serum! It forces the person who drinks it to answer questions by saying the truth. In the muggle (= moldus) world, the object used to see if a person says the truth or not is the POLYGRAPH. The use of veritaserum is strictly controlled by the Ministry of Magic! However (= cependant), its use is controversial: some powerful wizards (= sorciers) may manage (= réussir) to resist its effects.
SNAPE, the potion master at Hogwarts, makes veritaserum several (= plusieurs) times in the books and the movies.
THE PLACE (= le lieu)
The potion was hidden in the chemistry laboratory! Logical!

LES INDICES
Le veritaserum est une option qui doit être préparée (BREWed) dans un chaudron (CAULDRON), comme toutes les potions. C'est un serum de vérité puissant. Elle force la personne qui la boit à dire la vérité. Dans le monde des moldus, l'objet qui nous permet de savoir si une personne dit ou non la vérité est le POLYGRAPHE (= détecteur de mensonges). L'utilisation du veritaserum est strictement encadrée par le Ministère de la Magie. Cependant, son utilisation est controversée car certains sorciers puissants pourraient réussir à resister à ses effets.
Rogue (SNAPE), l'un des professeurs de potion à Poudlard, fabrique du veritaserum à plusieurs reprises dans les livres et les films.
