And the answer for week 1 was...

The Crystal GOBLET

standard-gallery-01-print-the-crystal-goblet-1000x1000_edited.png

The first objet to find (= trouver) was the crystal goblet (= la coupe de cristal)!

THE CLUES (= les indices)

In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth book (and movie) of the series, Dumbledore tells Harry Potter about the horcruxes: the objets in which Voldemort put part of his soul to try to become immortal. Towards (= vers) the end of the book, Dumbledore asks Harry to accompany him to a CAVE (= grotte) where he thinks Voldemort hid (prétérit de "hide" = cacher) one of the horcruxes: Salazar Slytherin's locket (= médaillon). When they enter the cave, they find the locket on an island in the middle of a lake. The locket, a HORCRUX, is in a basin filled with a potion that must be drunk. To DRINK the potion, Dumbledore conjures up (= fait apparaître) the crystal goblet, a kind of CUP, and asks Harry to force him to drink. This potion makes Dumbledore suffer terribly... When they come back to Hogwarts, Harry finds a note in the locket and realizes that the horcrux is a fake, and that the real horcrux was already taken by a person whose initials are R.A.B.

THE PLACE (= le lieu)

To find where the object was hidden (= caché), you had to solve an enigma:

Will you dare to venture there?

Forbidden forest: no time to rest!

In a place were many meet,

Come and look but be discreet,

Many creatures in darkness hide

So please keep your eyes open wide

Only dark light will reveal,

All my secrets well concealed

And the answer was... THE MEETING ROOM. Situated in a corridor forbidden to students, not far from the teachers' room which is full of monsters huh? And it is a place where many people meet! As for darkness... Well, it was very dark when you looked for the cup, wasn't it?

Now in French for our 6e...

Will you dare to venture there?

Forbidden forest: no time to rest!

In a place were many meet,

Come and look but be discreet,

Many creatures in darkness hide

So please keep your eyes open wide

Only dark light will reveal,

All my secrets well concealed
